@ChristiJunior @ArdainianRight @radix023 It does come with whatever your Steam library happens to contain, but it's a ludicrous price for a machine that's not even that powerful. And the controller not being included. At least they couldn't do that with the Deck.

@Rasterman @egirlyuumimain @radix023 Pokopia was a Game Key Card release, and that fake physical version sold disturbingly well, but Pokemon is pretty much ALWAYS on the cutting edge of anti-consumer practices, and an outlier in the Nintendo ecosystem.

@Rasterman @egirlyuumimain @radix023 That said, the new Fire Emblem will be 80 physical, which will probably be justified by the average playtime of Fire Emblem Engage and ESPECIALLY Three Houses. That means it will probably be the games with extremely hardcore fanbases (FE, Xenoblade, though probably not Metroid given Prime 4's sales) and the S-Tier franchises (Pokemon, Smash, 3D Mario, 3D Zelda), that will be hit with that bullshit. A-Tier franchises and lower (Donkey Kong, Metroid, Luigi's Mansion, Kirby etc) should avoid that fate, and least going by the current trajectory.

Isn't the default to simply not have that option at all?The $20 yearly subscription is all you need to play online. I think it's the cheapest of all consoles, but there might be better deals on Xbox these days.

@Rasterman @The_Killah29 @radix023 Even the Expansion Pack has become a WAY better deal than when it first launched (now THAT was a ripoff!!), especially on the Switch 2 with the GameCube games. But even the Switch 1's N64 NSO now boasts a way better library, with a bunch of rarer games beyond the obvious ones that everybody had already played, and improved emulation as well. The addition of GBA games was actually super nice, somehow that's actually the NSO retro console that's gotten the most playtime from me (#2 is GameCube, and thanks to Donkey Kong 64 the N64 just overtook the SNES as #3).

Now it's a massive library of a lot of the best games out there.It would be nice if they didn't do away with the VC, which let you buy the games and not depend on NSO, but at least now you can play Adventures of Lolo 3 multiplayer. :0550:

@TrueMasterCole @Rasterman @radix023 @The_Killah29 @egirlyuumimain Yeah, I think Fallout 4 was Code in a Box, while Skyrim Switch 2 Edition took up 50 GB and had a convoluted and restricted upgrade path. No idea why Bethesda suddenly decided to act like good guys, unless they knew that Soyny killing physical was gonna be announced soon, and they figured that a surprise physical edition of the Oblivion remake on the Switch 2 would give them lots of good press.
