       When do people understand that "not being political" is the most political thing to do? Not only to say that being able to say that is so insanely privileged especially when being aware of all the unfairness in the world going on Not being political is virtually and literally watching someone get stabbed in the street, identifying the person and choosing not to say anything, not to stop them, not to get help and not to report the criminal afterwards While at the same time being the person screaming loudest that everyone should execute free speech in a country so people that are transphobic/racist should be allowed to say those things---###---###---Edit: some clarification just in case https://alovely.space/@peritia/116834055162581623Again just here in short:I am talking about people that claim themselves as unpolitical and literally do no action just cause they are not affected or think they are not affectedI am not talking about people that choose to for example create an account just to goof on the internet and to choose to not consume any political media on said platform cause that is their safe or resting place where they calm down

       @peritia As always, it depends on the situation. For example, if someone truly cannot afford to have a political opinion, then I would respect that.Of course, the original post was written with a different intention, but I don't like the generalization that comes from it.That comparison isn't quite right either... if the murderer recognizes one as well and threatens one accordingly, I doubt one would make a statement.I think it's right and important to actively engage with politics especially when it comes to high-stakes decisions that can have significant consequences and actively choosing not to do so is very bad in such situations and should be criticized. On the other hand, there are also (for one itself) unimportant topics or topics where one’s own expertise is insufficient, and one actively decides to abstain. Within my utopia vision i wish for a democracy where something like that is possible. Enough rambling from my side and no tolerance for the intolerant.
