       @mei 95°C sounds like PROCHOT, so you probably have a badly installed cooler. check if all the screws are screwed in roughly the same / all the pegs are in

       @domi hmm so when I shut it down for a little bit and let it cool, I can see it climb up to 95 afterwards.also i started cleaning the fucker and... is it good if the cooler is still stuck to the cpu even when i unscrew everything? :neocat_sweat:

       @mei @domi preboot environments usually have very poor power control, though 95 is a bit excessive but I often see 70+ if I’m in them for a while re: normal, yes; that’s a side effect of thermal paste, and why people sometimes (often) bend pins removing coolersthere’s stuff you can do about it but it can always happen unless you use graphite pads or similar

       @toast @domi @mei @ignaloidas Intel has been LGA for a long time and AM5 is LGA tooLGA sockets are far more forgiving because the frame clamps down on the IHS very securely, this is pretty much exclusively a PGA problem

       @mei @domi @ignaloidas it changes phases quite a bit yesthough now that I see it you also put way too much :Dnoticing it’s a liquid cooler there’s also a good chance that your pump just failed, it’s the most common thing to happen to these

       @mei @domi @ignaloidas I usually avoid water coolers because it’s more moving parts, depending on the thickness of the cabling you may be able to feel if the water is moving, and some of them have embedded flow sensors? Other methods I can think of are destructive (sound is not reliable sadly).
