       @bonifartius It is just a way of making somewhat less acidic tea:  you put the tea into a large pitcher and then you put the pitcher in the sun.  It's regular black tea in this case.

       @p@fsebugoutzone.org @bonifartius@noauthority.social putting it in the sun is pretty performative.  But "cold brew" iced tea is easy.  Still probably lower acid.  I'm partial to earl grey, but green +lemon is also nice.  Or anything hibiscus/rosehips for a nice sour one.  It's not 100% the same as doing the whole rigamarole of brewing a crazy strong pot of black tea and then adding ice and water.  But ain't no one got time for that.

       @p @miscbrains @bonifartius i've made sun tea in a 500ml bottle on the hood of my truck while camping. then when its done you tie a string around it and put it in the stream for a few mins and boom iced tea

       @p @bonifartius You don't have to even put it in the sun, room temperature is fine.I do a gallon of water for 16 hours with three of the large/family style luzianne tea bags. After 16 hours remove tea bags and move to the fridge.
