       ugh. docker. I stopped working on a project that used docker for 2 years because I got ill and now the images won't build, because they depended on ubuntu and runs apt update in the build

       I'm running Borland Turbo C++ for MS-DOS from 1993 and the reason it doesn't work is because Ubuntu 18.04 is too old

       someone should invent a containerization format with the explicit goal of being supported forever, by switching out emulation layersbonus points: forward and backwards. not only can I run this code on ubuntu 38.15, it'll run on windows 3.1 too

       maybe I'll just switch to qemu + freedos instead of dosemu2 in a docker container. other than the command line arguments changing, qemu is pretty stable over time

       I was using the wrong make. The ones that comes with TASM 2 is not as good as the one that comes with Turbo C++ 3.x
