       @doggo I have a complex relationship with Matrix.. one of suspicion and despair at it's lack of some (fundamental IMO) features.. and [message couldn't be decrypted, waiting for the contact's keys]

       @doggo yeah and no, I guess..  Matrix kinda demonstrates how difficult it is to make multi-device cross-server transit-stored end-to-end encrypted messaging work.. or not ^^;

       @manunzip yes that's the thorn with Signal: account tied to a phone number, and in most countries a phone number is tied to a civil id or even a database copy of the passport. Which is to consider compromised, with all the PII leaks.Hence, dangerous for activism, field journalism and such against hostile state actors. Better than WhatsApp tho..
