       try to do something as simple as setting a reverse proxy for your home assistant? impossible, the config line is broken and they won't fix it https://github.com/home-assistant/home-assistant.io/issues/40548after some prodding, putting a trusted proxy's FQDN is not allowed, also adding a trusted proxy's ip with the cidr is not allowed, you have to add the whole subnet to the trusted proxy for the config to be judged valid and HA reboots. this is a huge security hole, because in that subnet, well, there is the gateway. so basically everything is a trusted proxy unless you're tight on firewall rules. but why make a software super unsecure by default? poor babies, i can understand how hard it is to make a bare-bone feature of a web-app work when the nice, fast and cheap and awesome home assistant cloud subscription has to be sold ​:pleadingcute35l:​ https://www.nabucasa.com/you can just feel the AI spaggeti code burping and farting in the backend.
