       The world we live in - being an open source software company, and having support customers require us to sign NDAs with them. So aggravating. We never get to brag about our biggest wins.

       It's always been like this. When some exec signs a multimillion dollar directory services contract with Oracle (or Sun, back in the day), it's a huge PR event and massive boost to that exec's CV. When some exec saves his company $millions by getting OpenLDAP support with us, crickets. It's a trade secret, a competitive advantage. Nobody gets a PR fanfare, nobody gets to pad their CV. Annoying.

       20 years ago it was less unexpected, open source hadn't gained corporate acceptance yet. "What, you can't tell the world you're running stuff written by hobbyists. Shareholder confidence will plummet if your software suppliers aren't all professionals!"But this is 2026, and open source isn't a dirty word in corporate boardrooms any more (unless you're M$). And hey, Sun is gone, Netscape is gone, the "professionals" all threw in the towel.We're still here, making the world's best stuff.
