       If it weren't for me having a dayjob and needing to abide by that schedule to live I'd totally just track and sit on all these committee hearings and public board meetings to push everything worthwhile. Sadly the system favors retired people and corporate lobbyists.

       Also it drives home that in the absence of retirement and being a corporate lobbyist, being part of a union or clued into union activity is extremely helpful in organizing. But because of all the union busting, this isn't happening as much as it should in the US. Instead it becomes people randomly announcing stuff on social media and hoping it gains traction, which is not effective at all, so that general strike everyone wants never occurs.
