       @mntmn not a cool hack at all: Just physics, we simply close all windows and shutters and put all awnings at max when T outside > T inside. Otherwise open everything. Use cross ventilation if possible.

       @mntmn I saw this post before I read it's a swamp cooler and for a moment I thought it was a "If I don't actually break my back I want it at least hurt to as badly as possible" kind of contraption.

       @mntmn basically if your humidity is high (over 30-40%) the swamp cooler haxx is to not do it because the idea is doomed. i've experimented with it. all it does is raise humidity even further with no appreciable reduction in temperaturethose techniques are used in desert climates for very good reason. phase change is where it's at. get a compressor, make a loop, fill it with propane, enjoy

       @uint8_t @mntmn hacking monohoses also works quite well if you can manage it, yeah! basically any phase change method in most european climates is incomparably better than any passive method. even unmodified monohose ones

       @jdrm @mntmn only really works well with high ceilings unfortunately.I think safety regulations even forbid installing ceiling fans when ceiling height is typical for modern non-fancy buildings (i.e. 250-270cm)
