       Be Cat, Do Crimes: A story in four parts.Photo 1: Somebody is staring intently into the garden. I snap a quick photo, remembering and then immediately forgetting that I saw a large mouse running down that same path yesterday morning.(Some of you have already guessed where this is going.)Photo 2: Somebody went back in the house while I was transplanting perennials into the compound garden. I thought nothing of it until I went in to get a drink... and discovered the grisly remains on the living room floor. He was clearly relaxing after his successful, um, mission.Photo 3: His response to "Are you pleased with yourself?" after I returned from disposing of the recently departed.Photo 4: Somebody came back outside as I was tidying up.
