       why the fuck do people think that correcting people's spelling is somehow offensive? i'm literally (when it's legitimately bad spelling anyway) just doing it to help people learn. and that's ALL i'm doing too. i'm not insulting them on top of it, all i'm doing is correcting them. fuck me, i'd LOVE IT if someone corrected me when i speak spanish wrong, it's not fucking rocket science lmao

       @bachimusprime someone on tumblr was talking about the "correcting someone to feel superior to them/put them down" and I think it's some variant of that. some people hear a correction and think it's like you're doing it to "put them in their place" or whatever.

       @bachimusprime I think they framed it as an autistic/NT divide. Like autistic people are more likely to bring up mistakes/inaccuracies as a "just trying to help" sort of thing, but NTs are like "what's your secret motivation for this... you must be trying to mock me, like you're saying I'm not smart because I made this mistake, and you're better than me because you noticed it"
