       Dared to venture across the Tamar last night to the wilds of deepest Cornwall to join a friend's moth survey party. And I have to say this is without doubt the most beautiful photo of a moth trap I or probably anyone else have ever taken

       UK moths have some pretty unhinged names, that I think probably say more about Victorian gentleman entomologists than about the moths themselves. They seemed to be mostly horny (the Maiden's Blush), existentially uncertain (The Confused, The Suspected, The Uncertain, The Nonconformist) or mildly deranged (the Dingy Footman, the Obscure Wainscot). I'm looking forward to reading this on the way home to try and figure out why.
