       Today I got something I thought I might never be able to get, this is an IBM Model 01 from 1935, the start of the IBM Model ## naming sequence. It might also be their first consumer productIt is the first model of typewriter they ever sold, bought out from Electromatic Typewriters, Inc. and essentially just rebadged to IBM.        I've got some work to do before it will work, I was told the hammers don't strike and I haven't put power to it yet. But I am *ecstatic* to get to work on this thing. I have a huge IBM typewriter collection and this was one of my grails to get.I love how barbaric it is, the tab set on the back is literally just a poker and a sweep exposed. And I think the impression strength is just set with a clutch on the back of the motor.
