Under these new rules:• Refugees could be deported and detained for up to 30 months in detention centers (“return hubs”) located in Rwanda, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan. Even if they have never even set foot in those countries. • Children could now be detained and deported alongside adults, also for up to 30 months, including if they are without family.• Raids could be allowed to target homes, hospitals, and even places of worship. With extended authority for seizing documents, imposing fines, and sending refugees to regular old jail in some member states.And again, remember: this bill — heavily inspired by Trump’s ICE methods — exists only because the right teamed up with the far right.        The European Commission (controlled by the right-wing liberals & conservatives who support the return bill) looooves to position itself above Trump, to present themselves as morally superior. But they're just a bunch of fascists in a neoliberal trenchchoat.
