       UPDATE: Figured it out. I'd selected the "Whole Word" option, and once I unchecked it the filter worked perfectly.Thank you all for the suggestions.Is there a way to filter out posts with specific #hashtags ???

       @dangillmor there's filters for generic strings, and # is just another character you can put in one.I'm not sure there's a shorter way 🤔

       @viq @dangillmor I think this is pretty much the way do it. I have three separate filters, but each has multiple hashtags in it because I get very tired of seeing categories of stuff in my feed. And even more tired of it if I decide to peruse the Trending feed.

       @JeffreySmith Clicking on that took me to the Filters area of settings. I already had a filter of that hashtag, which didn't work. Still baffled by this.

       @dangillmor I use a web-based Mastodon.  I go to Preferences, then Filter.  Then I name the filter, for example “NSFW,” and put in the relevant keywords.  The hashtag doesn’t matter.  Hope this helps.

       @dangillmor @mattgriffin Just to be clear, I don’t think it will filter them out if they’ve already appeared in your timeline. It will only filter new posts. I use it and it works for me.

       @dangillmor I had trouble filtering a hashtag and it turned out after one enters a hashtag to filter and clicks that the hashtag should be hidden etc. fmthere is another box to click on to finalize the filter at the very bottom of the filter page which is not visible unless one does additional scrolling.
