       If one were to try and get away from Gmail, what alternatives are the most free of BS?I feel like I ask this periodically and then when I dive deeper into any option, I end up finding out that it's some combination of "it's less privacy-centric than it claims to be" and "actually they're trying to force AI garbage into it too" plus other things.

       @LeoKirke I started the migration to proton, they made the news for something I didn't like, I stopped the migration to proton. I don't remember why. I don't have a good answer.

       @ajroach42 This has been my experience repeatedly, though (I guess luckily?) the "they make the news for something I don't like" part always happens just before I actually begin migrating.

       @LeoKirke @ajroach42 I moved to fastmail two years ago and it's been great. I think the only downside is that it's Australia based if you care about that. They also have a nice migration tool from gmail
