       George was missing for about 6 hours today.. turned out he was trapped in a trap here on the park.. Luckily we got him back home now but it's perhaps time to start looking for another place to live 😢The cats can't roam free here and it would costs quite some to make our garden cat proof, also the costs of living here is about 4 times higher then our previous place stacked up with the new server costs and soon again I feel a bit hopelessI traded stress from neighbors for financial stress

       @stux i read someone on another server that does not use a rented space but created his own. Perhaps that would lighten the burden? Better keep the cats indoors until you can either catproof or find a cheaper place. If your cats are escape artists like mine used to be it's pretty hard to make it cat proof.

       We love our new place so very much but at the end of the day it has to be doable otherwise enjoying it isn't really the case, only worryingI hate the current economy

       (Rant mode)@stux It's wrong that you do so much good for everyone on mstdn.social, and still have to worry about rent!  Those of us who benefit from being here need to step up. This is an appeal to everyone to support their instance with their wallets as well as their hearts. The good guys of the tech world shouldn't have to just make do every month. (End rant)

       @stux Sorry to hear about your cat problem. Here in California it is nearly impossible to allow a cat to be an indoor/outdoor cat because of coyotes, even in urban areas. Even intelligent street-smart cats get taken eventually. The coyotes have just learned to thrive in urban environments.

       @stux here they normally only use the small ones (for the exact reason that otherwise a cat or other non-target species can get in, there's a lot of hedgehogs and badgers in the area and those are considered OK to be out in the park)
