       whereas ...I figured I'd be sleeping on the sidewalks as an adult when I was a teen.  For a time I was, even, and I'm still not fully convinced I won't go out that way.Enough misery and poverty around and it seems like the default.  The 'what to do about it' is of course an open question.   One thing is for sure: a decade of conservatives/saskparty robbing the public blind doesn't help.
