       my terminal (urxvt) and menu launcher (rofi) take like 200 ms to launch on the atom. i will grab the patches i need for dmenu and st later but maneeee

       @dcc xterm also has startup time problems. xft fonts do not seem to behave nicely with it and urxvt

       @kirby Check bemenu out too! It's customisable from an environment variable — I've made a script that sources my config file and sets the variable, then made links to it for dmenu and dmenu-run. There is an pinentry implementation based on bemenu for GnuPG — particularly useful if you're using pass as your keychain.And it works in both wayland and x11 environments — so you can have a unified mostly identical setup with it.I even use it as emoji selector on my i386 OpenBSD machine — it's a Pentium-M ThinkPad, you can't get less computational performance than that, and it's still pretty responsive!
