       Please excuse me while I'm having a little existential crisis, lol. And if that wasn't bad enough, Mozilla has embraced AI, while Linux considers relaxing AI code policy and has some examples of patches co-authored by LLMs.I am still yet to think hard about what I want to do about it. But the world I knew is no more.

       @thegail I don't think it works the way you think it works. Last time I checked, the contribution was calculated from the custom "Co-Authored-By:" field; though, as you say, it might be enough to create a PR with this line in the commit message. Maybe not

       @thegail I know, right? This applies to _all_ the projects I originally linked. The "claude" user is not in the list of commit authors, but I was able to find merged commits "co-authored" everywhere.

       @thegail so, I went and checked how it works. Creating a PR is not enough to trigger the "user you blocked has contributed". As you can see: https://github.com/ninakali/whateverhttps://github.com/ninakali/whatever/pull/1/commitsIf I click "merge" then the list of contributors on the main page changes, and the banner shows up.This is all obviously very non-standard GitHub invention that might change at any moment, but right now it's not enough to create a PR with Claude to get the banner, it has to be merged.
