       Ugh, I don't drive enough, so my car's battery has been dead for like 6+ months at this point, and I don't have a trickle charger and very likely need a new battery...Even a refurb one is like 250USD, which I don't have... ugh...Thankfully I can take the bus, but ough,

       @lethalbit Do you have anything that is 12V power supply?Car batteries are pretty tolerant of many ways to charge them.

       @NoraByte I have a bench supply that can do 12v @ 6A if I bond both of the channels,  but I really don't want to drag it and leave it outside, and charging a lead-acid battery inside seems less than ideal...

       @lethalbit 6A should be plenty!Can you take the battery out and charge it somewhere less outside, but still outside?(I don't own a car, so I assume it's easy to remove a car battery?)

       @NoraByte Not really there is no "less outside"If I had a garage, then yes, but the closest thing I have is an open covered common area that is shared with other people in the apartment, and would still involve me leaving a several hundred dollar big of lab equipment outside for many days....

       @lethalbit That does not sound like an option. Do you have an old ~19V laptop charger and a DC-DC converter to hand?I've charged a 12V motorcycle battery like this once. I think it was limited to 3A and took a few days, but it worked at the end.
