@p @SilverDeth @ins0mniak imo Arise was rife with pacing, writing, and characterization issues. I'll normally mainline anything the franchise has to offer, but after a few episodes I was done with it.I hear tell SAC 2045 was pretty okay, I haven't seen it yet. CG style, Netflix, and being set in the US were turn-offs when it released, but I'd like to give it a chance someday.

@ins0mniak @SilverDeth @p Fuck, I completely forgot about them shilling the fucking Surface of all things.Maybe I'll revisit Arise someday, I'm honestly too busy to watch much of anything. I will add that Cornelius was a let-down on the soundtrack. Having to follow up after Yoko Kanno is big shoes to fill, but even so I didn't care for it. Hell, I liked that Origa/Heartsdale crossover for Solid State Society more than the entire Arise OST, and I'm of the opinion that Origa and Heartsdale mixed as well together in "Player" as peanut butter and turpentine.

@japananon @SilverDeth @p Yeah I actually have the Yoko Kanno stuff on LP because I liked it so much. Its such an odd divisive entry into it. Like for example if you watch 2nd gig it has an almost edge of your seat pacing a lot of the time, you cant turn away, where as on Arise it has the long plodding thing a lot which makes it hard for me to get into. Certainly a few things about it grew on me later but seems like a wasted opportunity.
