       93 kWh solar production yesterday, another all-time record and putting a very nice bookend on May.I ended up producing 61% of the day's total energy consumption (151 kWh).Monthly production was 1.9 MWh, 40% of the total 4.7 MWh demand. I only pulled 2.9 MWh from the grid. This isn't exactly aligned to the electric billing cycle (which ends on the 6th) but assuming the next few days end up comparable to or better than the start of the month, I might end up with a <3 MWh monthly bill (whatever it is, it'll likely be an all-time low in grid power consumption since last month's 3.37 MWH already was a record, second to the 3.77 MWh I used in July 2024).If my utility rate doesn't rise too significantly compared to May, I might end up with my first <$700 power bill since October 2024.

       @azonenberg oh, I wanted to mention a Home Assistant tweak I made for Enphase gear - I have whole house backup with 40kwh of battery, and normally let the batteries dip down to 30%.Just a few days ago I realized there's a cloud coverage percentage weather metric available in HA.  So now if the cloud coverage is greater than 50% I raise the battery reserve to 50%.Now I have more emergency reserve for an outage if it's been low production cloudy for multiple days running.

       @xabean Oh cool. I don't have an Enphase battery system, I have net metering so there's no bill savings from peak shaving and I already have the important stuff in the lab on UPS, and can fire up the generator if there's an outage.I've thought about adding one down the road though, because it would allow me to power-OR solar and generator and save fuel during a prolonged outage

       @azonenberg yah, no generator here, but also net metering.  My Enphase controller/combiner 3 is the version that doesn't even support a generator, those terminals are wired as an additional bank of battery.  I'm also low enough usage that so far I'm producing more than I consume on average annually which makes me happy.

       @xabean yeah I am nowhere near that. If I did overproduce in a year I wouldn't get paid for the excess, but that's a moot point as I would need a significantly larger roof/farm in order to match my consumption.Year to date I'm at 4.4 MWh generated and 20.8 consumed so only 21% of my consumption.

       @azonenberg the different schemes for offset/paying for electricity is so weird.  I don't get paid either currently, I think I can sell my offset back to the power company (at a rate MUCH less than what I pay) and set my net metering back to 0.  There's that, and Renewable Energy Credits in Virginia that only last like 3 years, and have their own market rate that fluctuates like the stock market.
