       Currently in the café of the Derwent Pencil Museum. Kids are refusing On Principle to go round the museum despite the many pencil-based attractions. One has said that if I say “pencil” one more time they will blow their top.

       Success! The kids caved and variously enjoyed and tolerated the Derwent Pencil Museum.Highlights as shown:- The World’s Largest Coloured Pencil!- The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Diamond Pencil!- Undercover WW2 map pencil!- Tiny pencil tip sculptures!Bonus alleged fact: the term “black market” originated from the illicit graphite smuggling trade in the 17th century! So the museum claims. I am Unconvinced.

       One thing I did not enjoy about it was the reliance on two videos which were clearly made by AI and had that horrible uncanny look. This was Disappointing for a museum about a tool for art and creativity. I felt like staging a minor protest but I was enjoying the Pencil Content too much and forgot.
