       The reason 2016 memes look so cringe today compared to when they first were made is because the spirit in which they were made were still felt and the eccentric and electric feeling of being on the verge of something great was something a lot of people still had faith in. Its easy to just say "oh well i just got older", or "i was just dumber back then". Yeah it's all true but i think there was something deeper going on there. Maybe i just look back on those times too fondly than i should. Maybe I'm not grumpy enough. Who knows
