       idk the whole fixed point thing in Doctor Who is sometimes interesting but oftentimes it feels like a lazy cop out. like "uhh shit we didn't think this through you can't change this event cause....it's fixed or something." it just feels so transparently like a writing device not something that makes sense in the world. this is especially true because iirc the Doctor never really explains it or goes into detail about what it means and why.however, the episode The Waters of Mars is I think the most interesting example of fixed points because it shows that even when the doctor says fuck it and thinks he's better than them, he's proven wrong. so they're some power bigger than him. I just wish it wasn't a power cearly invented for the writers to use as an escape hatch
