       @konstruct@woof.tech at install time, pmOS makes you choose. unfortunately the decided to put in systemd so kde and gnome based window managers can work on the phones. personally i think a better decision would have been 'sorry everyone u have to use a less bloated window manager' but i don't do any of the work so i don't get to decide

       @konstruct  You're absolutely right, thanks for calling me out.@brettm I'm sorry for that reply. I've been feeling a lot of pressure for this decision from a very vocal minority and I shouldn't have let your comment trigger me.Major UIs choosing to use systemd components was part of the decision, but there were other things that went into it too. There are a lot of nice features that systemd has for OS folks, which has allowed us to concentrate on doing bigger things (like immutable pmOS)

That there is still a option for openrc is the main thing 🙂btw i type this reply on a lenovo chromebook running postmarketOS, its my main fedi scrolling device, its amazing how many devices run pmOS and how easy it was to set up.
