       @EUCommission And this was the problem with the UK's membership - right from the very start the mainstream media treated Europe as a separate thing, not as something the UK was a member of. It was always "Europe says this" and "Europe does that", not "As Europeans we say this". You could see that when Brexit happened and groups like farmers and fishers who had voted Leave were suddenly astonished that they no longer got European funding. Because they'd never been European in their heads.

Yes, we are beneficiaries. Beneficiaries of genocide, of looking the other way and trashing the rules of international law. What are we supposed to tell our children?        @EUCommission Being a ‘remain’ Brit, I’d like a stat on how Brits feel they are losing by not being in Europe.I’m still angry the Brexiteers stole half my identity. I was born British 🇬🇧 European 🇪🇺 and remain so. It’s just not recognised by nations.

       @EUCommission Anecdotal data point: I have two friends who moved their business to the EU after Brexit, one in Italy the other Germany. We used to be able to order English language books, but now the additional cost is dissuasive.
