       To be clear, I think automated code quality tooling is great; CI with automated workflows, test suites, and linters are genuinely super helpful! But off the shelf LLMs reviewing my code might find a typo, but completely miss that I’m trying to solve the problem completely the wrong way.And so far, they have been *tedious* in a way (most) human reviewers aren’t.

       Maybe my more optimistic framing is: LLMs can often resemble simple sabotage. As can any bad tooling.If you’re building something, contributing to an open source project, or organizing a community, familiarize yourself with simple sabotage to be able to identify if/when you are actually slowly sabotaging yourself with bad tools.

       @cassidy to be honest, measuring everything twice as often as you think you need to is actually straight good advice.I renovated my own apartment from scratch. Believe me as I say.

       @drq “measure twice, cut once” is good advice for woodworking. Measuring four times “just to be sure” is how you slowly destroy the enemy from within.
