       @internetarchive The problem with libraries is that they are frequently subject to ideological capture and censorship of works they find objectionable.I don't want a centralized government subsidized knowledge base ran by busybodys who think it's their job to protect me from dangerous ideas.

       @internetarchive @brewsterkahle My friend from China said that she did not grow up with libraries and thinks them quite remarkable. She is fluent in English, but prefers audio books because she gets impatient with how slowly she reads English.
