       @deprecated_ii I was under the impression you don't use cloud because it's cheap in the first place, unless heavy use of its elasticity is involved

       @menherahair bean counters want to use cloud because it pushes infrastructure out of the business and then you don't need to hire people to manage the infrastructure. even if it costs more that's appealing to them. simplifies the business structure and personnel hierarchy, blah blah blahC-suite types love cloud shit because it's "the modern way" and more importantly it's what everyone else is doing. executives are groupthinkers and cowardscertain types of employees love cloud shit because it looks good on the resume and they can trade up to a better job with the experiencefrom an engineering point of view most cloud use is retarded :02_shrug: but there's not much actual engineering happening these days
