       huh, I think I just made a random connectionso I have face blindness, and the thing that made me be sure of it was someone else talking about it and how it is like asking someone to recognize individual cloves of garlic or giraffes. they are obviously distinct but since there's no part of your brain dedicated to that, you need to train a lot to be able to do it. and yeah, that's what happens to me, but that's not the realizationUnrelated to this, I would often be surprised at people saying that they were not white and talking about the issues they've had with their skin color. I never doubted them but it would surprise cause I wouldn't see much difference (like, I can recognize obviously black people like morgan freeman, but i had a friend from India who talked about that and I didn't really see much difference between him and czech people). I think it's the same thing? like, the same way I can't recognize someone just by their face, whatever features most people use for that, I also can't see the distinction between white skin and non-white skin?Like at no point I'm doubting that those people suffer from having a different skin color, just to be clear, I am musing on my own lack of ability to see that
