       Still kind of gobsmacked at how much better the ol' site runs with the Jetpack plugin deleted. Am feeling a bit silly for assuming that since it was "native" (and the downtime monitor was useful) that it was ergo also helpful.*sigh* I keep learning lessons, even at my age...

       Seriously, every ongoing problem I was having with my WordPress install has utterly vanished since I deleted the Jetpack plugin.Every. Single. One.

       @lilithsaintcrow@raggedfeathers.com the purpose of a system is what it does.my understanding of Jetpack is that its purpose is to cause issues with your Wordpress installation so that you are incentivized to give money to Automattic for support
