@SRAZKVT@tech.lgbt @fiore@brain.worm.pink non-reliance on other entities is literally the entire reason i care about anything other than GitHub . i was happy with GitHub for years. then they plastered AI everywhere and now it just Does Not Work . i can't get anything done there. so i've moved my critical repositories off of GitHub. and will continue to do so as i do more work on my other repositories. that's why i care at all about stuff like Radicle.also, i feel like sovereignty implies a degree of freedom? like, sure, Forgejo is sovereign . for organizations. but in Radicle, the "user" is "sovereign" . it very much feels user freedom to me . are we really nitpicking that this isn't the primary word they use to describe themselves?

@navi@social.vlhl.dev @SRAZKVT@tech.lgbt i think Sarah means that The Tool For Distributing Git Objects is also The Tool That You Use To Interact With Issues And Patches.to my understanding, radicle uses git to distribute arbitrary "collaboration objects" which are namespaced and extensible (this data is distributed with git. they're just refs). and radicle includes tooling for handling issues and patches with that generic plumbing that is built on git. rather than issues and patches being a separate tool?as someone coming from a very GitHub/gitlab/forgejo background, this does not strike me as odd in the slightest. in fact, i find it desirable or at the very least comforting and familiar. which is why i'm unsure if i understood correctly what Sarah meant?
