       Within these days my gf is getting her first pay so that’s a little help at least! The past 5 months I had to carry all bills since she didn’t had incomeI really wonder how dad use to do this back in the days, even with 3 kids on a single income

       @g I’m 33 and my dad is now 60I think that’s very true, although it often feels I’m doing something wrongI make more money then he did on his age but he had a house and 3 kids on a single income The scales have tipped so far

       @stux @g you are in the Netherlands? Yes it is very very difficult to live with one regular salary as a family, couple even, I believe in whole Europe, it wasn’t this way earlier. You are doing nothing wrong, dear fellow human

       @stux I can't speak for Europe, but housing in the 80s was under $100k for a 3 bedroom in Canada. Now it's more than $1M.Our costs are sometimes 10x more expensive than what our parents had to deal with, and yet wages haven't really changed meaningfully.
