how's it hanging, fediverse~? :acat: it's caturday!!i don't really think i need to start blogposting my life every single day again. but today i'm wired because i worked out and had a big coffee and i feel like typing to you. i'm a Health Bitch now, did you know? it's kind of new territory for me. i've always been quite a homebody and didn't eat super great, but i've really been trying to turn things around for the past half a year or so and it feels really good. i've been trying to like.. care about protein and macros and stuff and i've been dutifully tracking everything and it makes me feel accomplished and actually sort of proud of myself, like i can actually do something to help myself instead of just sitting around feeling miserable. this morning i woke up groggy with awful cramps, but i took an ibuprofen and i went out into the sunshine and worked up a sweat and it actually helped! ..jesus christ. i've been back for less than forty-eight hours and i'm already talking about periods. nope. that's not going to be a recurring theme.anyway, what else is going on? i own an little aquarium now, like a real one, not just a jar of snails and ostracods (although of course i still have that too). i just got some little shrimps for it last weekend, and now a week has passed and 1.) they're still alive and 2.) one of them moulted. :surprisedpika: they're really cute and fun to watch and i worry every day that they don't get enough food so i'm always adding extra food, much to the delight of the fish. for a while, i had a lot of guppies and that.. ended up to be something of a logistical nightmare. nobody told me that i was going to be dealing with some horrifying incestual rape tank if i raised guppies. the first brood of fry was cute, and then that brood grew up and i quickly realized that i had a problem on my hands. LOL. so i had to rehome my males... :comfysweat: and now my tank only has girl guppies and they've been kind of cliquey ever since i introduced a new tetra and they're not sure what to make of him. but finally they're starting to school around a little bit. it's very relaxing and fun to watch the little ecosphere in there. it does suck when i go out of town, though. one more thing to stress about not being home to take care of. anyway... i hope you are having a good day, anon. :3 do you have any fun weekend plans? i did all my chores and now i had a weed gummy and i'm ready to relax and watch a movie with chat in a little bit. :agooglerainbowheart: go enjoy your saturday! get some vitamin D! eat some protein! :agooglesnail:

@colonelj yeah!!! :blobinlove: at first i felt so self conscious like working out in public cause i felt like people would be judging me for being sweaty and then i realized that they're all sweaty too and that they're not thinking about me at all. and every little bit helps, it's not like i have to run a triathlon! have you still been doing your runs?

@theblessing yes. if people don't like seeing my sweaty, faintly see-through shorts they can just look away :chad: but i will say that if you do sweat a lot, sweatbands are really great and will keep earphones from getting soaked

@colonelj woowww, six miles, good for you! it's mostly cause i take antidepressants and it seems like that makes it a lot worse. >.< it's annoying and embarrassing cause once it starts, it's like it won't stop until i totally stop everything and just rest for a good while. but today i wore like a thick headband and that actually helped a lot.

@deadheat aww deadheat, so good to see you on my timeline :agooglerainbowheart: i'm not 100% convinced it is the end end of all angels, but i'm just really trying to firmly leave my gotis era behind, and i feel like this was definitely a big part of it based on this meme they made about me. 🤣 (and no, this is not a facedox.)

@theblessing >meme picThat's not how you ever came across to me, I like the angel aesthetics myself, and I also don't think it's fair to accuse you of gotism, you never came here to beg or bait for attention. But if you just want a change in aesthetics in your blogposting unrelated to what people may say just to mess with you that's fine.

@hippyofmelbournia hell yeah, good for you!! it's so true, the hardest part is finding the motivation to get up and do it, but i can't really think of a single time that i regretted it after. it's also been like really nice just to be able to talk about it with people.. for some reason, for a long time, i felt like it had to be this big secretive thing and that everyone else must surely not be talking about it and just secretly doing all their healthy stuff. but then i started casually bringing it up in conversations like at work and EVERYONE has something to add. it's nice. <3

@theblessing the coolest bit is that we now have another human we can babble at about our workout stuff. feel free - any time - to tell me about the good stuff, and the things annoying you, as you go - i'll do the same. i dont wanna annoy people by mentioning some dumb goal i achieved if theyre not into it tooヽ(^▽^)人(^▽^)ノ high five to our own versions of getting fit

@hippyofmelbournia yeah, of course!! but don't be afraid of annoying people, you should celebrate your victories, no matter what they look like! if they're not supporting you, then they can fuck right off! we are always evolving and changing and learning, we can't expect to be the same forever. :blobinlove:

@hippyofmelbournia @theblessing what helps motivate you both? I have been having a hard time finding motivation myself.

@YouDoNotHaveTheRight @theblessing i have to out myself in a faggy way but - apple watch. i have tons of injuries (because some people cant drive), so i just do whatever i'm capable of each day at home. i know people love gyms but if i had to leave the house to work out i'd be a potato. after a few years, even if you only do 5 minutes a day, it takes on a life of its own ☻

@hippyofmelbournia @YouDoNotHaveTheRight honestly don't even think that's faggy, it's technology working for you! someone offered me their old apple watch a year or two ago and i brushed them off because i find watches annoying, but now i've been actually using my phone to count steps and distance and calories burned and it's so helpful and it's so nice to actually see my work being tracked somewhere that now i wish i had one. 😆 but i'm sorry to hear about your chronic injuries, that's so frustrating. but you're going at your own pace and it's working for you. 💛 that's really inspirational and i am proud of you!

@YouDoNotHaveTheRight @hippyofmelbournia that's a really good question, and i'm trying to think of what has motivated me. i guess, first of all, getting my mental health in order was a big motivator, because it actually made me feel like i HAD the power to change things and that i wasn't just permanently stuck in the same rut forever. for so many years, depression was just beating my ass around telling me that everything was pointless and hopeless and that there was no point in even trying to improve anything. i was basically just waiting for the clock to run out. so for me, it was meds that helped turn my brain around a bit.. some people can do it without, and good for them, lol. but it's okay to take advantage of advances in science and medicine too. 💛 and beyond that, once i was able to get through those first few weeks of discipline and self restraint, then seeing actual progress has been HUGELY motivating, whether it's having more energy, clothes fitting better, less aches and pains, less GI issues, clearer skin, whatever it might be. there are so many little things that start to change when you're taking care of yourself and when you slow down and notice them, it's so rewarding and it really motivates you to keep going. i feel like before, i was always looking outwards for approval and waiting for the people in my life to notice my efforts and applaud me and cheer me on, but everyone is so wrapped up with their own selves, me included, so being able to instead look inwards and reflect with MYSELF on what has changed and why it helps ME has been really good.
