@fiore @autumn Great post and great thread! You know, it really reminds me of my old office job I used to have in 2008, of course it was a different time back then and you could say a hell of a lot more stuff before you got sent to HR but my buddy Rich somehow managed to get written up. He told me he was kind of anxious about getting called to the office because it was on a day we were working late doing overtime and the HR lady was scary but I just said:"Come on Rich, no HR lady is gonna have your nuts in a twist, you're a real beater" I could never have imagined..I was sitting at my desk and the light began to flicker, before I could really think about it a loud, booming crack of thunder made me jump up from my seat. Just as the relentless drumming of rain started to be audible I heard a bloodcurdling cry, it was Richies voice.I bolted down the office hall, the flickering lights grew in their frequency and intensity as I edged closer to the HR office. The door was cracked open and on the ground there was crimson red blood pooling and starting to form a small stream on the floor. I wanted to turn around and run but before I could the door swung wide open with such a force that it almost ripped from its frame and Richie flew out and hit the wall of the hall with a loud crack that could only be his spine shattering into a million pieces. He had a deep laceration across his torso, his intestines were hanging out like fleshy ropes, but I couldn't make out any more detail than that because a gutteral, wet gargling snapped me out of my shock.I never saw what was behind that door because I was sprinting for my life, the lights were now flickering with such an intensity it made me feel nauseous, almost epileptic. I think it was chasing me because the deep wet growling rang in my ears.But I made it out of the door and as I raced to my car I said a short and quick prayer for Rich. When I pulled out of the parking lot, one of the streetlights was still ever so slightly flickering.So yeah, HR is always a bit of an anxious experience for me, but I'm lucky I never had to work overtime so late after that.Life really is precious.
