Still I cannot doas sysupgrade -s past 14th May snapshot as the /bsd kernel fails to boot. Both you and I are fed up hearing this too. So today I'm downloading OpenBSD 7.9 and I will wipe my desktop and start a fresh in the hope that once it's installed and I switch back to -current it'll still boot the kernel ?Yes I know if I stay with -release it'll be all good under the hood but that's just not my style. I like to moan incase you've not guessed yet ? 🤣I am however reevaluating my BSD of choice and the outcome probably will partly depend on how I progress. :beastie: or :openbsd: ???

@justine One of the things I do not like are not working systems I daily use and corruption not caused by myself.So then I complain also…I separate my data and OS as far as I can, reinstall is a hassle but sometimes needed.Although with one of my nixos systems it is easy, install base, git clone setup config, build, reboot.But it has other disadvantages….Did you find a root cause? Otherwise itcould happen again?

No I haven't in fact I do not thinks it's me as I did as they said and wiped my system. Reinstalled OpenBSD 7.9 release then switched as per the docs to -current and guess what. It fails to boot /bsd again as it did before I wiped everything out.
