       @gneilyo @Quasit @news They were (along with the spacecraft itself) on a suborbital trajectory so they re-entered along with the starship and presumably burned up.Dumping a bunch of aluminum oxide pollution into the upper atmosphere, yes. But not contributing to Kessler since they aren't still up there

       You know, I've been a science fiction geek and space enthusiast all my life. I believe that our future HAS to be in space, if we're going to survive (which seems increasingly unlikely–human survival, that is). Never in a million years would I have •dreamed• that I'd be cheering for the explosion of a spaceship.But here we are. Thanks, capitalism! 🙄

       @news Oh, wait—apparently it was SUPPOSED to explode! Because of •course• it was. The same way that my car explodes when I drive home at the end of a work day. •Every• good engineer knows that your project has to catch on fire and explode after it's been used the first time. Because otherwise, um...reasons. Right? 🫪
