       I think we should drop the GCD008 idea. The differences are mostly ideological and political. I think we should accept that (at this stage) we have opposing camps and a clearly divided but quiet community. Supporting one group over the other is a bad idea. We can afford to wait for the rest of the free software world to take position. No need to try to lead with a minor distro. We should be more humble.

       @pjotrprins This kind of thing is mostly why I decided to leave Guix discussion. Everybody there is politically active (not necessarily a bad thing) but most are not open minded and look for discussion more than understanding.It's basically people trying to be looked at like they do everything right, and they are the ones with the most progressive thoughts, and they are morally flawless.Me, a simple man, a sinner, has nothing to do with them.I am simply not worthy.

       @pjotrprins I don’t think we’re trying to lead: many free software projects already have a policy in place.The outcome of GCD 008 might be withdrawal, or it might be something more focused (for example, I think one cannot reasonably ignore the legal implications, regardless of one’s “philosophical” stance.)

       @civodul I appreciate the sentiment and I admire your heroic stance. But even Debian postponed after 'debate'. I admire Debian - they rarely get it wrong. But the point I am making is that we are not really having a debate. Maybe we should save it for guix days? Though I am not looking forward to that.        @pjotrprins I think in a group, it’s tempting to avoid talking about issues and to swipe them under the carpet.  (I felt that temptation intensely: I’d rather be hacking!)But sooner or later, those problems the group refuses to confront come to haunt you—examples abound in free software projects.

       @civodul Sure. I am shutting up. Final statement: I advocate in favour of LLM usage in Guix. But maybe I am one of the  only ones  who are in favour, or I am one of the few who dare speak up. The future may, or may not, prove me right 😎 No matter. Life goes on.
