       a character did something with leather gloves alone with a kilnlike alchemical medical contraption that you would definitely use tongs for if you were using something hot enough to have the glowing described in the text. i have read tutorials

       @nora actually the alchemical sulfur is known to be extremely thermally non-conductive even on physical contact, it's why you need a special alchemy kiln to heat it. It'll still burn your skin but the heat transfer is on the order of "touching a bowl straight out of the microwave" or "flipping a tortilla quickly with bare fingers"

       i have not done any work that requires opening the kiln while it was hot but every sensible person guide i have read is using tongs and real fucking intense glove situations
