       Man, GaN power adapters are fantastic, especially now that they're getting cheap and more readily available. Even more so if you can make do with a lower wattage.Look how friggin' tiny my 20W travel adapter is, which I use to charge my Neo and my phone. It's as thin as the laptop itself and is essentially just an ungrounded schuko plug, except a bit longer.We're reaching the point where you barely need to call it a USB-C power "brick" anymore, at this point it's bordering on being just a USB-C power "plug" instead.

       Not to mention that unlike a plain ungrounded cable, mine has a second connector, I can run a USB-A port to it as well if I really need to.(Although this particular power adapter doesn't have the hardware to manage voltages for both at the same time. It can do 18W QC with the A port, or it can do 20W USB-PD with the C port. However if you use the A and C ports simultaneously it simply gives 5V3A, aka 15W, shared between the two ports. Which is still fine for charging two phones, but it means I can't charge my laptop with it if something is plugged into the A port)

       @lanodan I've considered doing the same. This week my local electronics store has a little 100W GaN brick with three USB-C ports on sale for like 35€.Considering picking one or two of them up tomorrow, and then buying a pile of C-to-barrel adapters off AliExpress.

       @lanodan The only reason I haven't bothered tbh is because there's so many different shapes barrel jacks come in, and a number of my devices want odd voltages which USB-PD didn't do before PPS came along. For example my radio wants 6V, I've tried giving it 5V, but it acts weird, it needs a minimum of around 5.1-5.2V (The hardware inside it was probably designed to run off of 4x AA batteries, which are 1.5V each)But these days more and more of the affordable GaN adapters available support PPS as well.

       @fedops unfortunately i don't think china have updated their "lenovo square plug to USB-C" adapters to support more than 100W yet.But you can still get one of those for like $1, then provide your laptop with up to 100W from a much smaller GaN adapter (which you can then also use with other devices as well)Maybe china will make Lenovo adapters which go over 100W sometime soon

       @quad the Ps don't support USB PD and they will not charge with anything less than a 170W "travel" charger. Even the 165W charger from the older W "workstation" series are not enough.And all that for a measly 70-90 min runtime.

       @fedops ouch. I used to have some P laptop at work which came with a 170W charger.And while it would complain during post that the power supply was too weak, i could still use a typical 65W adapter if i really needed to

       @lanodan the place where i want to replace power bricks most is my network rack, because having crammed PDUs and a shelf to store all the bricks is just overly stupid.Unfortunately lots of network equipment is designed around PoE voltages, so even if it might only pull like 10W, they might still want 24V/48V or similar, which USB-PD only recently became capable of (possibly to cover this exact scenario)
