       so apparently signal doesn't like it if you use it exclusively on a computer, and we got a notification that our account will be deleted soon if we don't reinstall it on the phonewhat is with all this phone-first designi honestly consider this an accessibility issue. not everyone can use a phone keyboard, and there are people who keep chat programs off of certain devices in order to limit distractions, and i'm sure there are plenty of other reasons i can't think of too-F

       oh yeah signal also tries to downplay it in their faq about this, saying that "your account falls into an unconventional and rare category" because of thiswhen i feel like this is the ideal way to use any IM system-F

       this is extremely frustrating to mewhy can we not just have IM software that works the way it used totype a message, it goes to the recipient, end of story. no weird stuff about whether you're using it on a phone or a computer or anythingstop designing things assuming people even have smartphones in the first placewe wouldn't if we could get away with it-F

       @Hearth@plush.city yeah this is like what'sapp. can't use it on pc without it being on your phone. i'm starting to think signal is not a safe, privacy-friendly messaging app

       @nCrazed @Hearth looks like it'll still link the account to *a* phone number so you can't make an anon account, or an alt if you only have one phone number
