       Yesterday there was the annual general assembly of our local #DARC group. This time, as every two years, with elections. I'm re-elected as vice chairman of the group and authorized to do things no one likes like administrative and organizational matters.(Germans like that in general - we don't.)#hamradio #amateurradio

       I'm worried about the state of the #DARC: People are elected into all kinds of offices who are not eager to get the job to improve things, but just accept it so the show can go on. Also, there's never an alternative candidate, so never what can meaningfully be called a vote.Make me happy and tell me either of these two has been different in your case 🧵!Anyway... Congratulations! I hope the job will not just be a burden, but occasionally a joy, too, and reasonably rewarding overall!@hensys

       @dj3ei To clarify:I never applied for this job; it was offered to me. And there were no opposing candidates. However, this is a problem affecting society as a whole and impacts many clubs, not just the #DARC. Since this is a re-election, I have a pretty good idea of what to expect. Plus, I’m definitely interested in making improvements. I also want to get people excited about amateur radio, even for selfish reasons: I need QSO partners. 😉

       @hensysBei mir ist es im OV genauso, Distrikt erfordert mehr Arbeit, aber wahrscheinlich sind Oliver DH8OH und ich so lange im Geschäft, dass uns das schon nicht mehr auffällt, weil einige Sachen automatisch und nebenbei erledigt werden.
