       @neauoire Ahh nice! Read the odyssey first obviously 😊 -- i think I must have read most of the (translated) odyssey in high school, by far my favorite epic work. And only bits of Ulysses unfortunately... my father-in-law is Irish and used to be an expert on the subject back in his day though 🤪

       @neauoire yes! I also wanna read Ulysses this year! But more importantly I need to say that Wilson’s Odyssey is the most beautiful Odyssey I’ve ever read! (n=2 😅) You’ll surely like it!

       @drj Infinite Jest is that one book for me that I've tried every few years and ALWAYS given up. I might never read it, I've flipped through Ulysses and it seems like a actually pleasant read.

       @h3rald I know very little about it, it's the one I'm starting with first! I've recently read Paradise Lost, and I'm hyped for more. I've only started through the introduction by the translator.

I was already bilingual and somehow kept thinking that literary translations were easy and formulaic 😳 Her love for this work made me devour all the interviews she was giving at the time.        @neauoire mighty project at that, if you could get the study companion it would be great! Joyce was a deeply cultured man, and the references to christian symbolism, greek mythology and a deep understanding of the English Language were impressive, reflecting in his works.        @neauoire Nice! I watched a video about every chapter before reading it and still only understood part of it. But would lie if I didn’t say I felt proud to have made it through. It was my 2024 summer project. Infinite Jest way my 2025. This year it’s Middlemarch.
