       I generally appreciate OpenSSH but generating the default ssh key in the file without extension and the public key as .pub was a horrible UX choice

       @maswan @eloy yeah it's a carry-over from SSH-1, although it used to be ~/.ssh/identity(.pub) pre-DSA: https://github.com/daztucker/historic-ssh/blob/df015a81e632a4705c9040be0e33810ae7a54a6c/ssh-keygen.c#L790still, they could have changed it for new algorithms (e.g. ed25519)

       @shiz @maswan @eloy reading through the readme on that repo got me wishing that we still used ‘trojan horse’ as a name for a vulnerability class. not to mention all the other cool names that we forewent for nondescriptive jargon
