       @hardy @teabynameteabynature A second hand Wacom on Linux sounds good (for the software side, hardware must be in good condition of course), because Wacom share the spec of the tablets with Red Hat, they usually have plug-and-play support later in every distros and major D.E. (esp GNOME and Plasma). I'm writing a long article for my blog (my bi-yearly long Linux guide for artist), with a full chapter to understand what's going on with tablet on GNU/Linux/Wayland. It should be ready soon!

       @LeahKiser It's possible that full support isn't there? My Asus Vivobook K501 rarely ran in to trouble, it was a blown battery that led to it's replacement 2 years ago. The Asus Vivobook S15 does not play nicely, I have had to be selective over which kernel I use to get the most stability but even then it is a bit hit and miss. Having read some of @davidrevoy reviews I'm going to be tinkering a bit more with Mint to see if that helps even before I pick up a graphics tablet, and also look at the other distros. Worst case scenario I'm going to have to think about a new laptop/desktop just to make it tolerable doing the basics, there will be no going back to Windows.

On the end of this week, I'll post a massive blog post about my current Linux install (a detailed how to, very long, many chapters, color management, tablet, software, etc) where I try to transmit all I know on the situation in general (tested so many distro and hardware over the past month). I hope it will help!
