       @EUCommission it could be so easy if you'd just tax the rich and the billion dollar companies and fight tax evasion. So much money that ends up in the pockets of a few by fraud and the lack of proper taxes.

       @EUCommission The EU speaks of fighting poverty while the CDU, the German arm of the EPP currently dominating EU politics, pushes the harshest social rollback agenda in decades. It weakens freedom and security for ordinary citizens, drives poverty on an unprecedented scale, while Germany’s head of government attacks citizens instead of protecting them. We print money like there's no tomorrow and cause massive inflation, making everyone pay for it without noticing! No one notices that they lost money because the number on their account stays the same!        @EUCommission Good idea. Hopefully it won't turn out to be just that.. an idea.Maybe put a halt to taking from the already poor, the disabled, chronical sick, retired, .. all those who already have a very low income and high costs. I see it happen in more and more countries, while the rich and (not so) famous are being untouched.

       Hello @patrick_h_lauke! Taxation is primarily a national competence: that means each EU country decides its own tax system, including whether and how to tax high incomes or wealth. That being said, the EU does play a role in combatting unfair practices, tax avoidance and evasion. We also keep track of and report on gaps in taxation.
