       update on "that ancient datacenter I bought:"so, the plan to move the stuff into an old gutted movie theater has been solidified. by October, I will post a link to a webpage that you can go to to request an account; as long as you aren't a spammer, you get a VM/CMS account. upon logging in, you will be able to either run CMS (and the whole host of CMS software from the EVIEVM world, like OfficeVision, SCRIPT, TOOLS, DisplayWrite, ForaView, WW2, all the compilers, Db2, QMF, etc) ORRRR spin up:a period-accurate Linux (2.6) VMa z/OS 1.5 VMa VSE/ESA 2.7 VMa MTS 6.0a VMa MUSIC/SP 6.1 VMeach user gets a 3390 model 3 (3339 cylinders) to do whatever with... you will be able to use Dirmaint commands to divvy it up into as many minidisks as you'd like and if you are running a VM, you will only need to store configuration overrides and such onto your private disk
